Movement Improvisation (DANC150, 1995)
What do we know that we do not know we know?
Improvising is a strategy of sensing, perceiving, and responding that works differently each time. When we allow ourselves more choices and when we are listening to those impulses, our receptive body adopts stronger sensibilities. From this state of being, our intentions form. The complexity and unexpectedness of improvising, with its constant changes in intensity, is transformative. The act of improvising is a chance to emerge differently.
