The Body Stories/Gender Identity, 2016-2019
“I am” statements integrate personal histories with exterior spaces. Interpreting “Be gentle”, “Be masculine,” “Be strong” statements as shapes encourages each of us to re-define these words and recognize what still lingers in our body. Our exchanges with others in Atlanta, LA, and Santa Cruz, encourage deeper listening, seeing differently, and support the courage needed to follow sensations unique to our own body.
